This project for Kartal Anadolu İmam-Hatip High School encompassed both the architectural design of a permanent gallery space and the exhibition design for Kartal Neşriyat, which presented the school’s publishing history.
The gallery was created by transforming an unused basement into a cultural venue. Minimal architectural interventions established a contemporary identity: white walls and polished concrete floors provided a neutral background, while linear lighting highlighted archival and visual materials. The gallery was envisioned as a lasting infrastructure, offering flexibility for future exhibitions and cultural activities.
Within this newly designed gallery, Kartal Neşriyat exhibition brought together decades of student publications, manuscripts, and fanzines. Graphic wall elements, bold typography, and freestanding panels structured the space, turning the archive into an immersive narrative. Highlights included the deep blue “Publications Library” wall, yellow manifesto corridors, and above all, the Name Wall, where the names of all alumni of the school were inscribed. This permanent installation not only created a collective memory but also celebrated the continuity of the institution’s cultural and educational legacy.
By uniting gallery design and exhibition design, the project not only provided the school with a permanent cultural space but also staged Kartal Neşriyat as a memorable archival exhibition.
